The Beasts

Ravyn

aka Morty Applebaum, is a rebellious but sweet-natured teen who is often described by his peers as the "sad" kid. Grandmother, Golda Applebaum was tasked with raising the boy since infancy. The both reside in the same crumbling brownstone in Little Dublin as the Burke family. To those who can see beyond the Mist, he has raven feathers around his face, in his hair, and growing along his shoulders. His abilities are centered around nighttime and dark wings.

His Mythos/Beast: Prophet of the Morrigan. Dark Wings/ Dark Words. Ravyn hears the call of the mistress of death and must answer by transcribing the pictures he sees in his head. Ravyn has a seemingly endless supply of drawing tools, dozens of sketchbooks, hundreds of renderings, and a trail of spray paint murals through the city.
When not drawing, he can be found racing over rooftops with best friend [Kit.

Emma Burke

Emma is Felicity Burke’s daughter and Francis’ niece. She and Francis were pretty close up until his accident and alleged death and she took it pretty hard. Her dad died when she was about a year old. She’s pretty close with her mom. She’s 15 and pretty quiet and bookish, kind of a loner. Somewhat of a computer geek but nowhere near the level of Flicker.

While she's always had the Burke temper, once her Mythos activated, it's been on a short leash while she tries to figure out what's going on. The events at the church started the trigger for her Mythos. Fires start seemingly out of nowhere and she doesn’t really know what’s going on. She is new to the Brewery but seems to be fitting in easily with the others.

Emma Mythos/Beast form can create and embody flames. She is a true Fire Starter who is growing in power every day.

Nubia, or “Bee”

as everyone calls her, has no family or home to speak of anymore. Her mother and father were fearful of the changes in their daughter and believed her to be possessed by an evil demon. They threw her out and refuse to acknowledge her to this day. She came to stay with the Beasts shortly after her awakening and has created a strong sense of family and community with the Beasts. Kitsune has aligned themselves with Bee in creating a safe community for the kids. She is often at odds with Ty and what she calls his “thug mentality.”

Bee’s power centers in metals, gold being her favorite. Her Mythos/Beast form gives her a metallic sheen and at times looks as though she has golden accents or designs on her skin. She also harnesses the golden energies of the mother to all, the Queen Bee.

Ty

Ty has been growing bolder with Bear’s absence, actively trying to influence the Beasts to follow his instincts and leadership. Ty believes the Beasts need to assert themselves in Cross End to claim their territory. He has been warning the Beasts about a rival group created by the schism after Bear died. He thinks trouble is brewing and if the Beasts don’t start acting more like an organized hierarchy, they could find themselves in the middle of a territory war. After failing to recruit Kit to his vision, he has become a regular obstacle in Bee and Kitsune’s efforts to nurture a family environment.

Mythos/ Beast:A large illuminated creature which he uses to his advantage or intimidate others regularly.

Kit

Kit has become a major influence with the Beasts since Bear’s death. Even though they never sought out a leadership role, they take the responsibility and their influence with the kids very seriously. Kit has expended considerable amounts of time and energy in creating a safe place for the group. Kit feels very protective towards the Beasts, especially Ravyn, and makes them a priority in their life. They heed Ty’s warnings, but they don’t buy into his solution or his motivations.

Kit ’s Mythos/Beast form is a Firefox spirit. They have fiery, cerulean energy they can draw from to heal, bless, create illusions, or perform physical feats. Kit actively fights their fiery nature to destroy and wants only to show the other side of fire; healing and love.

Akira

“Don’t talk to me. Don’t you dare look at me. Or even think about me.” Akira deflects all conversation away from herself and only ever talks about others. No one knows what her home or family are like, but there a sense that it’s not nurturing.

Her Mythos/Beast form is hard to pin down. Akira creates mirror images of objects or people and makes minor illusions within a close distance.

Liza

She was strangely connected to the hundreds of plants that grew inside her house as a child. She didn’t know until much later that those same plants could hurt so many people. Now that both parents are locked away at the Southside County Prison, she had been bounced around to different foster families until she found a home at the Avalon Center. Not wanting to give up her greenlings, she has started a benign crop of plants for the community center. Fruits, vegetables, flowers of all varieties and a hidden batch of “stargazing” herbs.

Liza’s Mythos/Beast is an Earth Elemental. Her abilities involve sensing vibrations within the earth and is a plant whisperer.

The Beasts, a coterie of troubled youths who were former followers of Bear, now led by Ty and mostly centered at the Brewery.
