Old Quarter
Stepping into the heart of the Old Quarter feels like traveling to the past. This historic district is full of old stone buildings with wrought-iron railings, brick buildings with antique wooden signs, and the occasional cobblestone street. It seems that you can't go more than a few steps without running into something of historic significance in the Old Quarter.
The oldest part of the city, this area once known as the Merchant District was the center of trade for the City. After the Event destroyed much of the city north of the river, big business shifted across the river to Downtown. For decades, the Old Quarter was left to quietly decay. In the last five years or so the Old Quarter has been gentrified, but much of the area has been restored rather than torn down and replaced like Downtown. (And if you're in the know, the Mists are practically tattered all throughout the Old Quarter.)
Here you can find Michel's gallery, Dee's antiques dealership, and a shop where the more successful artists from ScorchRain sell their wares.
