203: Captain Condom and the Thumb War

General Summary

20 minutes after entering the Hollows the crew emerges. The next day Eugenia gives Kit   a loaded bag, Francis gets fitted for a suit, Dee’s shop has 3 customers at the same time, Mora meets with the Kissa’s, and Captain Condom makes an appearance at the Ikeda house.

The Truffled Spoon

Eugenia, Dee, and Michele meet for their regular champagne Sunday brunch. It's very fancy.

Michel makes a big entrance and is dressed in full mourning garb. His mourning is in reaction to Mercy's acquiring the WuTang rights and their creation of a new line of Hats.

Eugenia tells him about "Chad punching" at the bar and promises to bring him sometime.

Michele notices their tattoos and disapproves. They tell him about rescuing an idiot from the Hollows.

Eugenia asks him to be her +1 at the upcoming Geiss/Massamune Wedding. Michele

immediately comes out of mourning and rushes to find a designer.

Mora receives 2 invitations:

1. Meet the Kissas for tea this evening.
2. Maria invites her to hang at the Raghouse. (Maria's nightclub)

Mora chooses the Akhet Tea House and arrives shortly before they close to the public for the night.

Jackie Payle is in the lobby. She seems confused by why she is drawn to this place and the Kissas. She shares that ever since the prison heist, she has disturbing dreams and wakes up in cold sweat.

The Kissas are surprised but also impressed that Mora survived the Hollows. They congratulate her politely.

The Kissas announce that they consider Cy lost and are holding a memorial for them. The Crew are invited to attend.

The Kissas share their backstory:

1. The Kissa’s explain how the four members found one another a long time ago. Could be actual cryptids.
2. The Resurrection Society reached out to them because of their connection to their Mythos.
3. They are specially tuned-in to help balance the cycles of life and death within the city.
4. Resurrection Society was a very strong group and had many members but dwindled over time.
5. Were unprepared for the Calamity. They didn’t sense it was occurring and therefore many people from the society died.
6. The Kissas were not the founders or leaders but were the only ones left to continue the mission of the Resurrection Society.

The Kissas are looking to rebuild their group and ask if Mora and Jackie would join the Resurrection Society. Will be looking for more recruits.

Jackie is confused but they inform her that her knowledge of water is more important than she knows.

They will help Mora understand her purpose and make plans for “what comes next” for her.

Still worried about how Nidhoggr was able to rise again.

BIG DAMN FLASHBACK

Kit is waiting for Katuri at the diner while looking at their tattoo and scar.

FLASHBACK: It's about a week after the death of Nidhoggr.

Kitsune rides up the La Tour d'Argent to Excalibur's Penthouse Suite.

Kitsune seen as a warrior fox-spirit outlined in neon, blue foxfire.

Their right arm is bandaged and wrapped in a sling.

Eugenia’s penthouse, seen through the Mist as a throne room. Stark but not cold.

2 Thrones: She sits upon the slightly smaller one. The larger is empty.

Eugenia is The Queen.

Kitsune gives bracelet back and vows allegiance to the Queen.

The task is complete and Kitsune releases control of Kit. (the human)

Kit asks Ms. Ex for help maintaining control over their fire-fox companion.

Naga encouraged Kit to "let them in" when exploring their Mythos.

Katrui has an effect on Kit that allows them to "be themselves."

Eugenia vows to help Kit be human as much as Kit wants.

FLASH FORWARD: It's now earlier that day, in Eugenia's Penthouse.

Kit dumps backpack with pics, apple, and gold rock that they took from the Hollows. Kit no longer wants to "keep secrets."

Kit tells Eugenia about Ravyn's drawings. Shows DNA strands and theory that it’s Helix.

Eugenia gives Kit a bag of "information" and sex talk to encourage safety with Kat.

Kit quickly departs...with the bag.

END FLASHBACK: Kat appears at the diner worried. Asks Kit to dinner with family.

Kat says mom wants to meet them before the wedding.

A Captain Condom pamphlet is seen poking out of the bag.

I will frighten off the customers

Theresa is panicked. There are three customers in the shop at one time.

Dee tells her "You're doin' a great job!" and says she will frighten off the customers.

Dee selects the "weakest" customer.

Clean Cut Professional Looking Guy- Rommy Patel

Offers to sell him a 1800 year old solid jade... body part, which is the perfect present for wedding, anniversary, or "sorry I f*cked the secretary."

City Prosecutor, knows Simon Wu, Michel’s husband. He’s looking for spoons for wife who’s having a party.

Dee tells him about 13 Cursed Silver Spoons, Salem Oregon 1656.

Impecible historical record of death, destruction, and travail.

They were NOT created by Paul Revere. F*ck him.

The Spoons were made by Eldminster Buckwalt, silvermith, sage, etc.

He's so excited by these "cursed witch spoons" and can't wait to tell his wife everything about them.

Tall Bulky Mediterannean Guy- Collector of Firearms

Claims to be a collector of Firearms.

Seems very interested in guns that Dee has on table in back, in her apartment.

Dee sends him to Janet Maghtaghtaght, on Agnessa and Odd Street. Janet is a competing antiques dealer Dee doesn't like.

Pretty sure he's a Bo Peep Henchman. Connected to a sheep that Dee shot in a previous episode.

Fashionable Self Confident Woman -Eva Baptiste

She's looking for large, awkward, frightening wedding gift.

She offers a taxidermy grizzly bear with an inexplicable rough of parrot feathers.

The woman asks "Do you have anything carved out of an obscene amount of stone?"

Dee offers a replica model T carved out of obsidian "It's hideous" 1/2 scale

It's pointless, obscene and incredibly difficult to transport. She loves it and sends someone to pick it up.

Dee sees herself go through a doorway to help the other two customers at the same time.

Theresa is amazed by how fast all three customers were taken care of.

The woman seemed to notice this and says "Goodbye, Deirdre." as she leaves the shop.

Dee celebrates selling the most worthless piece of crap in the store. Let's close early!

I said her omelette was good!

Francis meets Lukas at Mercys (downtown) He has a suit fitting for the wedding.

Lukas wasn't invited to go but thrilled that he's missing it.

Felicity has been grilling Lukas for details about "The Accident" and knows he's not telling her everything.

Lukas confesses that he once told Felicity her omelette was good, which it wasn’t. (it's a trap!)

Francis says Felicity is a "human lie detector" and says Lukas was stupid for trying. "It starts with an omelette."

4'11" elderly androgynous taylor leads them back.

A person at the cologne display grabs Francis. It's Felicity in a very bad disguise.

She wants to find out what Lukas has been lying to her about.

Felicity threatens to call Ronnie, Sandra, Sabrina, and Claricity who have "choice words" about Francis if he doesn't cooperate.

Many references are made to the summer of 7th grade. An agreement was made that no one will bring it up.

Lukas has an awakened mythos, hasn’t told Felicity at all. Francis only knows some of it.

His Mythos has a “jumpy thing, when I'm suddenly not there.”

At the accident, when he went over the edge, he didn’t grab Francis and feels guilty about it.

Felicity wanders in with a mustache and a pile of shirts (Its-sa me Mario!). She keeps bugging Francis to find out what Lukas was lying about. She has amazing deception skills.

Francis looks amazing in a suit and feels a little like he used to.

Some of the goo got on him at the accident too. People came to check him out.

A woman doctor and business people talked to him after accident. They gave a settlement to him.

The woman doctor’s face had no features Lukas could remember.

Meta, this is referencing Dr Jennifer Smith, but Francis doesn’t know her from anywhere else, Mora does but they haven’t talked about it.

Felicity was given a settlement also, funeral expenses for Francis

Another Dire Warning

Eugenia has been working all week at Empire and retreats to her home at the Penthouse at La Tour d'Argent

Madame Velma shows up unexpectedly and with urgency to share another "vision" she's had.

She takes the stairs (30 floors) because she believes that's how she'll die.

She's filled with dread with another dire warring. "You'll soon receive a cry for help. Do not go into the Hollows! Danger awaits!!" "A Great Tree of Red!" "You'll be offered a CROWN!"

-Eugania confirms that she's already been to the Hollows and back.

"The Fox should NOT take the apple..."

Eugenia is concerned about this news but informs her that she has the apple in question in the other room where she and Kit had met that morning.

They creep into the next room and look on the desk where eugenia had left it along with the other items from Kit's backpack, but the apple is missing.

Velma is distraught and asks for a snack. They go to the kitchen.

She sees the tattoo on Eugenia's hand and goes to touch it... nothing happens.

Velma has been having visions about the upcoming wedding. "The twin serpents that spiral around each other." "Birds. so many colorful birds, cresting and jumping and leaping." But she can't remember so she tries to create another trance, nearly giving herself a concussion.

She goes into Eugenia's bedroom and lies down. She asks for an object of mystical power. Mystical candle, candlestick from Eldminster Buckwald...

We find out Eugenia sold her Eldminter Buckwald collection of spoons to Dee.

She gives Vemla a chess piece and she easily slips into a new vision.

Velma brings them to a post renaissance Italian Garden, some crumbling features, citrus trees, herbs and flowers.

There's activity in two places; 1) Up by the house or 2) Down by the garden wall.

They go down to the wall where a loud surging water sound is heard. The wall is too tall to see the water from the garden.

The wall is very old. A Wyrm is in the garden and beating its head against the wall, trying to get through.

She can see that Nidhoggr is coming through a crack in the wall but it is now dead and plugging up the hole.

1. What does the dragon want? The dragon seems to want to tear the wall down to get to the other side but isn't thinking about the consequences of doing so. What might happen if the water comes in?
2. Where is the dragon? The dragon has a looooooong body that twists all the way up to the keep where a celebration is going on.
3. What is on the other side of the wall? There's a small hole in the wall and water pours out but it's a dark ethereal water full of souls.
4. Velma is splashes by the water of souls and screams and starts loosing the vision. She sees a barrel of pickles split apart and go in directions, Bethany face appears and says she has a call, then a cat appears and says "sup, bitch" and the vision ends.

Eugenia lets Velma sleep in the guest bedroom. She may have a new roommate?

Maybe I was just chasing ghosts

Felicity is wearing another very bad disguise. Wants to know what Francis discovered.

They go to a bar across the street and talk.

Francis tells Felicity that Luckas is just hiding survivors guilt about the accident.

Francis uses tough love and brutal honesty to finally get Felicity to open up.

She's looking for someone to blame for the accident and so far all she has are ghosts.

The "goop" company never gave their name when the settlement for the accident came through for her.

She's frustrated that she has no more leads and just chasing ghosts.

Felicity took the money to give Francis a proper burial. She was raising Emma on her own and had no money.

It was a money order. (not traceable)

Francis says it was 2 years ago.

Talks about same doctor who visited Lukas, also can't remember what she looked like. (Odd)

Francis encourages Felicity to reconcile with Lukas.

Dee closes the store.

Pulls a painting away to reveal a safe with a hand print where she keeps the Mask of Tiamot.

Dee sits with vodka and peers at the mask.

"What do you know? What do you have to tell me?" and strokes the mask.

Mask is smiling in response.

Igraine is enjoying her night by herself and Eugenia takes care of her.

Captain Condom and the Thumb War

Kit stands outside the Ikeda Residence with a special white orchid, a gift to the Ikedas.

The gardener from the open air market (Prax) said White Orchids are symbol of mourning, respect for families during loss.

- Kit gives Katuri Ikeda the orchid but he doesn't like the idea of taking care of it.

They kiss as images of Captain Condom keep haunting them. Kit tries to shake those thoughts.

Toma Ikeda let's Kit know that he's still spying on his brother.

Erika Ikeda and she recognizes Kit (Moonlight night in Kat's room) and welcomes them.

They go to Kat's room, Door Open, and talk.

Kit notices that Kat's bedroom is facing a different direction now.

Kit said something about funeral traditions and Kat said responded “Why are you looking into that?” He doesn’t seem happy Kit was snooping into family traditions.

Dr Hiroto Mori-Ikeda on his phone all the time. Not engaged in family matters at all.

Erika says a family prayer “Unto the flow our bounty comes and unto the flow our bounty returns.”

Toma points out Kits tattoo. Embarrassed, Kit tries to cover it with illusion and fails spectacularly.

Tattoo changes and becomes a talking tattoo of Captain Condom. Everyone is staring but Kit keeps it hidden.

Kat is tense and trying to help Kit explain it away as a funny joke.

Kit goes to the bathroom to wrap TP around their hand and overhears a conversation in the kitchen.

1. Gemma encourages Erika to lay down and rest. She's "not feeling well." She wants to support Kat.
2. Erika seems to hear Kit, but not see them so they continue. "Can't keep carrying Suki...she needs to go back... figure out what went wrong."
3. worried if someone else dies. "obviously Kat can't handle it yet, and you are in no shape to take on another one."
4. "Some of my girls are getting antsy to have kids" For some reason they can't.
5. Erika says she could always contact the "Old allies on the top of the hill."
6. Gemma is strongly opposed calling the Kissas "monsters."

Toma and Kat are arguing and dad calls Kit "Bridget" and leaves.

Kit suggests they have a thumb war to settle their fight. Toma is HERE FOR THIS!

Kat is upset. Kit try to playfully challenge him to fight and have fun, but Kat is too stressed so Kit accepts the challenge on his behalf.

Kit loses the fight and falls to the ground.

As Toma is dancing over his foe's dead corpse, Kit gives two thumbs up, exposing the Captain Condom tattoo for everyone in the room to see.

Kat is mortified, Kit is embarrassed, Erika is upset that Hiroto left, Toma "Thumb War Champion" is demanding victory cake, and Gemma cheers.

Chocolate cake seems to help make everything better.
