Doyle has been the queen's closest advisor for longer than most can remember. He has a reputation to be somewhat stiff, and formal, though his views in the house of lords are not known to be extremely conservative. As an advisor, he is mostly known for standing by the queen as she ascended to the throne, contrary to what some would have liked to see. Furthermore, he seems to have kept the peace a little in the house of lords when the queen has of yet refused to marry.
