Purpose / Function

The temple's existence is for it to be the place of worship for the Scion, the god of darkness, with rituals and worship to give him the power to influence the world.

Architecture

The Temple's design of smooth black stone reflects all light off of it. Its design is meant to be lifeless and empty for all inside of it, and the feeling of being swallowed whole is made clear by the dark corridors with no light.

History

Where Shadows Lie

The temple's origins are considered some of the most mysterious as no one knows where it came from. Some believe that the temple predates the cataclysm itself. It is a place of untold secrets that only the Scion's followers can find. As you may wonder, it mostly has to do with the temple calling its followers to enter its hall and conduct the dark and twisted things it was meant to do. But how they get there is another story as the temple's actual location was lost long ago, with no one knowing where it is. Allowing the worshippers to conduct their rites uninterrupted and fear their destruction should they be found in this place. Many things have been done at this place that brought about many evils in the world, and they continue to do so in the attempt to gain power through it.

Lost and Hidden

Many have sought to destroy this wicked place, but as soon as they are close enough, it vanishes as if it wasn't even there. It causes many who have tried to find this place to tend to go mad if they seek to destroy it. The truth about the temple is that it is not in an exact place found on the planet. The actual reason why this temple is found anywhere and nowhere is due to it being in another dimension entirely. It is said that the temple is held in a place of darkness that lacks light and color. The only way that followers are allowed to enter it is because of the darkness within themselves, and all others are denied entrance making it lost to only them. Those allowed to enter this simply have to enter a shadow and are transported there instantly. Making the temple one of the most secretive places to exist, with many forgetting that this place as it can never be found and allowing shadows to keep it that way.

Tourism

Only those that worship the god of darkness can find their place here as they conduct rituals and sacrifices in his honor and hope to win his boon to grant power.
