There are things in this Jungle that might as well be consider monsters to any stranger that enters it. But the Razor Sail considered to be something feared, not because of its teeth of size, but for its determination to hunt its prey no matter how far it must go. - Kesma Topan, Tikasa Hunter
  Out of the many beasts that roam the jungles of the Tikasa Jungle, nothing is more fears than the Razor Sail, a beast feared for it ferocity and cunning. Though not the strongest or the fastest beast around, it makes up for with is ability to adapt to its environment and it’s high intelligence when hunting it prey. Often setting traps and stalking its prey waiting for the fight moment to attack. It considered one of the most feared predators in the jungle and has kept that position to this day.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A bipedal carnivore with strong leg muscles and a pair of long arms for grabbing. It can be identified by its long and narrow skull with rows of razor sharp teeth for tearing and the long sail on its back with its spine being apart of it.

Biological Traits

What makes a Razor Sail easy to identify is the large sail coming from its back that is apart of its spine. Often used as a way to absorb heat thought sunlight. Along with a head Crest on males of the species used in mating rituals. It also has two claws on each arm a hard sharp crest on the end of it’s tail.

Genetics and Reproduction

They reproduce by laying eggs sexually with a partner which takes eleven months until they can lay their eggs. After eggs are laid it take three months for them to hatch.

Growth Rate & Stages

At birth Young Razor Sails are born without the sails on their back and have short snouts. They will remain in their nest until they reach a year old and travel with their parents learning how to hunt and during that time their spines begin to grow to create the sail on their back and their skulls being to get longer. After year they leave their parents and live on their own, though they are half the size of an adult they are very fast as their metabolism burns through more energy to allow it grow. Making them needing need eat at least three times the amount of food that an adult eats in a week. Once they reach puberty their metabolism slows down and with males their head crest start to develop in time for mating Sean when they reach the adulthood.

Ecology and Habitats

tropical jungles allow them to gain the necessary heat they to survive and use the dense greenery as camouflage to sneak up on unsuspecting prey. But it often stayed near water or shady places where it could rest or cool off. It will also swim from place to place to remain cool and to preserve energy as its sail helps it swim.

Dietary Needs and Habits

As it main diet is meat it will hunt every opportunity it has, often hunt animals its size or smaller ones. Often using the element of surprise and strike when they are not suspecting. It will hunt animal larger than itself when they have the opportunity, but will try to avoid them to avoid injury.

Biological Cycle

Depending on the age of a Razor Sail the sail on their back will change from a light green to a dark greenish brown to show how old they are.

Social Structure

Razor Sails are solitary animal by nature often hunting alone and only working together when needed. The only other time they come together is during mating and caring for their young.

Domestication

The Tikasa known for their skill at taming beasts have been able to tame this savage beast, but with some difficulty as they are hard to control. But once they calm down and are feed daily they will act as faithful mounts to their riders. Through they will still act with their predatory nature when used in battle of use the environment to their advantage and using all of its body parts to unleash as much damage as possible.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Those capable of kill one of the, will often just take the teeth or the sail as a trophy. But the Tikasa use every piece of it. Teeth and claws for weapons, meat for food, hide for shelter and leather and bones are used for buildings material and tools.

Facial characteristics

Eyes are binocular and nostrils are the side at the end of it snout.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Razor Sails live with the Tikasa Jungle and a few islands that border it.

Average Intelligence

Razor sail are often considered ambush predators despite their size as the blend in with the environment. They will sometimes will still another predictors kill using intimidation and size to do the job. They can be territory as well and use a series of call to communicate with other Razor Sails that are in the area to either invite them in or chase them off. They are will to hunt in small pack when food is scare and will hunt animal larger than itself. When fighting over territory rather then fight one another with claws and teeth they use their tails to whip one another to avoid serious injury in fear of damaging their spines and to this until run leaves.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

A Razor Sail relies on its sight and smell as it is more advanced to allow them to properly hunt in the dense tropical climate they live in and to figure out where prey is. Their hearing however is considered to strongest as it was able to pinpoint the exact location of a sound and could tell when the weather was changing.
