The burrower was created to increase mining production as the need of productive was needed to increase for resources and the Burrower was the answer. Though not the safest form of digging it was on of the more effective ways to getting the job done. It unorthodox use of the rockets installed into it is proof of that as they allow it to increase speed and make it easier to reach mining deposits which takes day to reach though normal methods. It of course had some strain on the drivers though if they were organic and weren't wearing protective gear while inside of it. Making it illegal to operate in several countries for use unless safety measures were met. Of course there are places that ban this form of mining equipment as it can have harmful effects on the environment by accidentally creating small earthquakes or even collapsing the ground that it digging into. Which is why its has been mostly used off world instead fir mining operations as their is nothing to really harm out there. All they have to deal with though is making sure that it can withstand the atmosphere in space and that any organic drivers have enough oxygen to survive.

Power Generation

The machine is often powered by a by a Darolite core that ensures that it is has enough energy to power the rockets and the drill have enough energy to maintain its power.

Propulsion

The machine is powder by several large rocket that allows it to pierce the ground at high speeds and allow its drill to cut through the rock like it was nothing. Of course this causes the whole thing to shack rapidly and once it goes into a certain direction it cannot change it course until it stops.

Weapons & Armament

A massive drill is attached to the front of it drill for it to pierce the ground with ease. The drill also has holes in the front of it that collects the dirt and rocks that it collect mineral it might have gone through. With anything not of value being tossed out the back of it as it passes through.

Armor and defense

A thick protective shell exists around it to with with stand heat and earth clashing with it.

Communication Tools & Systems

A Tel Communicator is equipped to give reports back to the end of the tunnel as its the only way to communicate as radio waves are unable to reach the surface if they are too far down underground.

Sensors

The Burrower is equipped with an echo scanner that allows itself to created an underground map to see it it runs into an open pockets underground by using the vibrations that it creates with it drill to ensure its does not fall into them.

Additional & auxiliary systems

I case of an emergency stop the a pair of small rockets are built in the front of it to slow itself down much quicker as casing the back thrusts to stop suddenly could cause to Burrower to tear itself apart. A safety foam also floods the cockpit to ensure the driver it not harmed either.

Hangars & docked vessels

In case the Burrower has to be abandoned a small escape craft called Tunnel Grappler is used used for the driver to escape back up the tunnel.
