The Owls of Dylath-Leen Document in The Centurion's Riddle | World Anvil

The Owls of Dylath-Leen

This document is covered in scrawling, barely legible text, with a second, print-like hand scribbled in the margins, attributed to Albus Rickette. The note appears to be damaged by the effects of the Gap. Scanned and processed for the public by the Holy Church of Sarenrae. Original document on file at the Radiant Cathedral.

In the land where mortals dream,
three Owls wait at Dylath-Leen.

Feathers white and eyes like snow,
one Owl watches people grow.
One is black and wicked beak,
this Owl watches people shriek.
Last is grey and wise and smart,
this Owl watches two depart.

No fair hen or winged priest,
triplets born from Golden Beast.
Sons that he would never name,
for he had Seen what they became.

When Memory fades and Father falls,
Beware the King that Always Crawls.
Three Owls screech in starlight bend,
and Riders come to haste the end.

This text was pulled from a pile of scrolls I discovered in ______________, translated to the common tongue some years past. I wonder if they have an original? I have mentions of a White Owl in my notes back at ______________. Flagging for further study... - Albus Rickette
