Gormuz Myth in The Centurion's Riddle | World Anvil

Gormuz

Very little is known about Gormuz due to the effects of the Gap, but the few written records that mention it are often vague, and contradict with other sources. The followers of Sarenrae believe that Gormuz was a city on Golarion, which was destroyed after the citizens killed a herald of the Sun God. However, goblinoid races seem to imply that Gormuz was a spawn of Rovagug — perhaps even the first — whereas Keleshite scholars believe Gormuz was a holy man that protected the Pit of Gormuz during the Age of Darkness.   Even Albus Rickette wrote of struggling to find an answer to this ancient mystery, and at the end of his life hypothesized that perhaps all three stories were equally true. In one of the rare manuscripts recovered by the mortal incarnation of the Arcanist, the scholar claims that Albus was at least partially correct, and that the holy man Gormuz and the spawn of Rovagug worshipped by the goblinoids were one and the same.
