The Sword of Emritabav

One of the 3 marks of authority in Nakarmalai, the Sword of Emritabav is a long sword with an ornate hilt in the shape of wings. Made of a strange metal it is said to strike down entire armies, and guide the wielder to wisdom. It was lost in the political chaos surrounding the Succession of House Nasir.

Historical Basis

Emritabav was the second prince of Nakarmalai. He was at the fall of Makelde and led the defense of Nakarmalai in the War of Siblings. He was a noble lord, and beloved by the people, and they rallied to him in defense of the city. His radiant sword would inspire all who could see its light.

Spread

The sword has been used in battle sparingly in recent years, even before it disapeared during the recent struggles. The people of Ormosahar say that the Princes of Nakarmalai had lost the favor of Emritabav and could no longer wield it. The Nuxong will curse whoever wields the sword, as it is the only weapon that can defeat them in the Brightlands , or so they say.

In Art

The seal of Nakarmalai is the sword, hilt high, ringed by the Shadow's Crown and crossed by the Staff of Avrat-Sul. When a new house takes the throne it usually adds the seal to their standard.
