The Big Boil was the cataclysmic event that transformed the once vast ocean into The Blast, a boiling, oil-laden sea prone to violent eruptions of fire. Occurring a generation ago, it shattered The Blasted Isles' connection to the outside world and to one another, plunging them into isolation. The event's causes remain a debate amongst scholars.
