The Radiant Requiem
Tier I, Strong Hold
The Radiant Requiem is a fledgling faction of audacious con artists masquerading as spiritual mediums, offering elaborate funerary rituals and spectral séances to the grieving and superstitious of Awarth. Despite their small size, they have perfected the art of illusion, employing gree-fueled devices, theatrical tricks, and staged “spiritual” encounters to dazzle their audiences. Their recent successes in staging convincing performances have earned them a growing reputation among the desperate and the wealthy alike. Small but ambitious, the Requiem is on the rise, leveraging public fascination with the spectral to build their influence and expand their operations.
Turf
Hidden performance parlors and disguised séance houses across Rootloch, especially in The Spillways.
Notable Assets
- Mirror Kits: Custom portable mirror arrays enchanted with low-grade gree-reactive glyphs to create ghostly illusions midair.
- Fog Emitters: Modified vapor projectors that release spectral-looking mists during performances.
- Spirit Scrips: Forged "spiritual texts" written in dead languages (many sourced from Esoteric Archive leaks) to lend authenticity to their rituals.
Quirks
- "Mirrors Never Lie" Doctrine: Every member carries a small, blessed mirror — cracked along one edge — believed to protect them from genuine spirits they might accidentally provoke.
- Performance as Survival: Failure to perfectly maintain the illusion isn't just a business risk — it could provoke violent retribution from clients, rival mystics, or real supernatural forces.

History
The Radiant Requiem began as a desperate scheme by Madame Helbrun, an actress turned con artist, who saw Awarth’s obsession with the spectral as an opportunity. Gathering a small group of outcasts—an inventive tinkerer, an empathic charlatan, and a few down-on-their-luck performers—she staged her first "séance" in a smoky parlor on the fringes of Salve. The success of this carefully orchestrated illusion sparked a string of similar performances, each more elaborate than the last.
