The Everweld
The Everweld is a communal forge and gathering space within The Rustway, where laborers and artisans not only work but also connect and collaborate. The ever-burning fires of the forge are a beacon for machinists, tinkerers, and scavengers who share skills, trade ideas, and repair both tools and relationships. While primarily functional, it has become a cultural cornerstone, hosting informal teaching sessions, storytelling around the glowing furnaces, and impromptu celebrations of hard-won successes.
Purpose / Function
The Everweld is both a working forge and a social nexus. Artisans use its forges to repair and craft tools, but it is also a place where Rustwalkers exchange knowledge, assist one another with challenging projects, and forge bonds over shared labor.
Architecture
The Everweld is an open structure with a low, arched roof made from repurposed metal sheets, supported by salvaged girders and beams. The central forge glows at all hours, with smaller workstations and tables scattered around its perimeter. Makeshift benches line the space, and overhead cables power dim, flickering lanterns. The air is warm, filled with the scent of metal and steam.
History
The Everweld was established by a group of Rustwalker artisans pooling resources to create a space for shared labor. Over time, it naturally evolved into a gathering spot, its fires providing warmth and light for both work and camaraderie.
