Ordrick Nawrish

Ordrick Nawrish, known to most as “Gnaw,” is a wiry scavenger who lives in the dim alleys and forgotten corners of Sootsprawl in Smokestone. With his sharp features and unsettling knack for appearing where others least expect, Gnaw is as much a fixture of the sprawl as the soot-streaked chimneys. He claims to understand the language of rats, directing them to search out caches of tools, trinkets, and even food hidden in the rubble. While most dismiss this as madness, there’s no denying his uncanny success in uncovering forgotten treasures.
Gnaw values his independence above all else, shunning the factions that weave through Smokestone’s streets. To him, affiliations mean debts, and debts mean chains. The rats, he insists, are simpler and more trustworthy than people, and they ask for little in return beyond food and shelter. He lives a quiet, solitary existence, trading just enough of his finds to sustain himself while hoarding the rest for an uncertain future.
Though some fear him for his eccentricity and his connection to Sootsprawl’s rodent infestations, Gnaw is not malicious. He’s simply a survivor, more at home in the shadows and the filth than among his fellow humans, who he views with cautious detachment.
