The Magic System

The source of life force.

The soul is not a physical entity. It cannot be touched and cannot be seen. At best knowledgeable eyes can see the open space where the life force flow from. Experienced eyes, able to read by looking at a person's body, a person's entire flow.

The Flow of life force inside the body.

Unlike blood, which flows within the confinement of blood vessels travelling around each extremity, returning to the heart before repeating the process. Life force flows freely and his held only by a vessel's skin otherwise known as the epidermis or containment field.
Life force flows inside like water flowing inside a sieve. The only means in which life force has to exit the body is through a vessel's openings, mainly a vessel's pore and mouth. Before life force can exit through the containment field, it ebbs, pools, whirlpools continuously inside the body.

The flow of life force outside the body

Outside of each pore, life force gushes out like raging river and hovers before dissipating into the atmosphere. What happens once it dissipates is only up to speculation. Separate schools of thought endorse separate ideologies on the idea of what happens to life force. After life force leaves a vessel's container, and before it dissipates life force connects with each other and flows outwards like steam from a kettle, but unlike steam, life force is not held by gravity but it is no lighter than air so it doesn't simply rise either, it just flows.
How the flow of life force outside of a vessel moves is almost entirely dependent on a vessel's mind frame or emotional state. When your emotion changes, so does the flow. The two are directly proportionate to each other and the flow of life force will shift just as quickly as a mood changes. Each flow type for a vessel represents an emotion or mood.
Magicians capable of seeing the flow and who posses knowledge of emotional links are capable of reading an opponent's mood and mind frame though it takes a master to read it completely. Though each flow represents an emotion, the types of flows linked to each emotion vary with every species of vessel.
Eg. The Flow which represents happiness for a human does not necessarily represent happiness for a lion.

The Outer field

Thee distance between the Container and the point of dissipation for life force is called the outer field. The size of a vessel's outre field defines the brute power of their souls. Those with naturally massive soul strength have naturally larger pores within the vessel as the containment field is put under great strain to release so much life force. Those with such soul strength have a harder time control their power since they're so much life force. Those with such soul strength have a harder time controlling their power since their so much of it flowing so they have to work to gain control of their abilities. Those with very low outer fields have a very high ability to control their magic but have to work hard raising their outer field.
