Master Chain Makers are a royal level construction title spread across the Black Thorne.
They're royal because of the value and rarity of the skill. The amount of steel, stone, and manpower are too great.

Appointment

There's no real method of appointment. Generally an extremely profound mission will to be completed, creating some amazing art. Something so amazing that it garners tourism.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

You can't be fired from prestige.
But it is entirely possible that you could have your work of art, which likely would have been put into the history books, fall apart, such as a bridge or floating castle.
