Champions

There is no greater honour than being a champion. Because of that it is nightmarishly hard to gain attention, let alone be a headliner.

Headliners

The money that comes from being a headliner is incredible and the reason leagues, factions, and guilds are formed, reaching across the Black Thorne. Some places are more dangerous than others; some areas where death is a requirement.

The Industry

There are entire industries set up to accommodate arena fights. Musicians and bards paid to retell tales of legendary battles across the Black Thorne. Money can be earned from helping heroes travel, to hire cooks to make specialized diets, to fast meals, to books, handwritten or printed stories, histories of past events.

News and food are always in need; valuable within the world of arena’s; so valuable the arenas and heroes along with their tales tell the story of great deeds and those who backed them. Territories could rise and fall on the back of some arenas. Because of this factions and guilds have formed to regulate within the major cities which is ‘tolerated’ so long as there are no disruptions to the natural order.
