Pheonix Eye

Damned thing, I should have shattered it the moment I got the chance! We found it in an old tomb but… even though Edward was there it… it wasn't Urman. The eye was inside a dark phoenix. It could supposedly bring people back to life… though I guess we know better now.
-Isac Arno Obenslauter
The Pheonix Eye is a magical stone sphere that contains both an enchantment and necromancy spell. Its main function, while within the eye socket of the user, is to resurrect a corpse within the user's sight. The corpse will return to life with its wounds fully healed (leaving only slight skin discolorations or scars if the wound was magical), and the newly revived corpse would also be forced to follow the commands of the user. These commands don't need to be direct, a message either written or spoken can be passed down between creatures under the eye's control and maintain its power. Creatures under the eye's control can also instinctively tell when a command was truly sent by their controller or not. Creatures who were dead for more than a year before being resurrected return to death when they escape the control of the user, otherwise it's possible to break the spell on creatures safely by either commanding them to be free using the eye's power or simply destroying the eye.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

After a short study of the shards, M.I.M.I.C. determined the eye was made of a fusion of obsidian and Delvian Crystal. This mixture was most likely found naturally as no evidence of any technology or magic has ever been found that can artificially fuse delvian crystals to other materials.

History

The Pheonix Eye was found in an elven ruin by King Edward of Urmany. Understanding its power he kept the eye secret, keeping it in the very tomb he found it. He later had a trusted friend place his corpse in the tomb so that he may continue to look over it even in death. Decades later King Peter found its location and sent his son, Isac to retrieve it and defeat the phoenix statue that it was placed in. Peter proceeded to use the eye to fully take over Urmany and threatened to take the rest of Great Eethill, starting the conflict known as the War of Eethill. At the end of the conflict, Isac shatters the eye and gives it to the Camelot faction M.I.M.I.C..
