M.I.M.I.C.
Magical Item Ministry In Camelot (M.I.M.I.C.) is a group dedicated to the retrieval, protection, and research of magical items across the Barren.
Public Agenda
With the spectacular force of magic comes power that could easily be held by anyone. M.I.M.I.C.'s goal is to prevent especially powerful items from being wielded, even by the hands of their own agents.
Assets
M.I.M.I.C. is funded by Camelot's royalty and high nobles, giving them access to the transportation technology required for them to be able to ensure safety across the Barren. Minor and moderate magic items withheld from criminals in Camelot are usually donated for research purposes or for M.I.M.I.C. agents to use while on duty.
History
Before they were M.I.M.I.C. the organization was known as the Knightly Order of the Chalice. Sir Percival the Loyal, the member of the Knights of the Round Table who found the Holy Grail was tasked to hide the grail and formed the order to do just that. Once King Arthur died the throne went to his son Arthur II, who abused the power of the throne for two years, action was taken against him when he executed a suspected criminal with the sword Excalibur. Arthur was exiled and Excalibur was deemed too dangerous to be in the hands of any mortal soul, so Percival was recruited again to hide it. This is when he started M.I.M.I.C. to find and secure items abused like Excalibur, also developing the Barren's official item categorization system still used today.
