Scarlet Brotherhood

The Scarlet Brotherhood claims that the bloodline of its followers traces back to the ancient empire of the Antediluvians. Their stated goal is to restore the old bloodline to it's rightful place as rulers of The Known World, and they are far from a benevolent force.
As scions of a realm that once enjoyed unmatched arcane power and a vast dominion, its members see themselves as superior to all other folk and the only ones fit to rule.
For decades, this group has been concocting a conspiracy to spread fear, chaos, and uncertainty across the land. When the time is right, the Brotherhood will strike to seize the reins in kingdoms all across the world.
Already its assassins have slain some of those who might oppose their sinister plans. In almost every court in the land, from the most remote backwater barony to the Imperial courts of the Cerulean Empire, the Brotherhood's agents have quietly assumed positions of influence. Or that is the belief amongst those who know of this sinister force. Even the Hold of the Sea Princes fears their malign influence.
In the past where guile and deception failed to win the day, the Brotherhood employed brute force. At the upper ranks of the organisation is an elite cadre of fanatical monks called the Scarlet Sign; the weapon tip of the organisation. Yet the Brotherhood prefers to rely on politicking, blackmail and bribery to achieve it's aims.
It is said that the Scarlet Brotherhood is a caste society, valuing the presumed descendents of the Antediluvian race and culture above all others. Full citizenship is granted only to those of pure of blood who adhere to the Brotherhood's philosophy of Antediluvian hegemony.
Dark rumours suggest that the Brotherhood has an active eugenics program and conducts regular interbreeding experiments, producing their unnatural bredthrall slaves.
