Eda Oweland

Councilwoman

Eda Oweland is the most senior member of Saltmarsh Town Council, as well as the owner of three large fishing boats.
She has lived in Saltmarsh all her life, and her love for the place is apparent to all.
Eda is known to be very community minded; if anyone in town needs help she is the first volunteer. She believes community binds people together and allows them to ride out the fiercest storm.
Her only family left in the town is her grand-daughter, Lemunda Oweland. Lemunda is a flighty girl of questionable virtue and has caused her grandmother no end of headaches. Despite this Eda dotes on her, and has expressed her hope that once Lemunda matures some she will also work in service of the civic good.

Appearance and Mannerisms

Eda's grey hair is worn long down her back and tied with blue ribbons. Her kindly face bears the hallmarks of a life lived outdoors.
Some large earrings and a pendant are the only visible signs of station in her dress - she is otherwise dressed functionaly.
Eda is a gruff woman who speaks her mind, often in a very forthright manner, and she has been known to use the colourful language of sailors when angry.

Notable Achievements

Well respected around the town, even by those who may disagree with her traditionalist views, Eda has been elected to the Saltmarsh Town Council on three separate occasions.
