Abeline Nerovarco

High Trident of Procan

Abeline Nerovarco is the High Trident of the Azure Cathedral in Keymouth, and as such leads the faithful in services at the church.
Her story is a well known one amongst the populace of the capital, and she often relates parts of it during her sermons.
At a young age Nerovarco's family left Keymouth destitute and fleeing from debtors. They fled into the wilderness, along the coast around Forling Basin and had to learn to adapt to a new life. Abeline, even though very young, proved to be remarkably adept at spear fishing, and was able to help feed her family.
Then, at the age of 13, she rescued her father who was struck unconscious by a swinging boom of the Keelboat he was piloting. Her father was knocked into the rocky waters and would surely have drowned had the young Abeline not been present. As she swam down to rescue her father Abeline claims to have seen a vision under the water, of a huge ocean-green hand gently holding her father's form in it's cupped palm.
From that time on she became a devout follower of the Storm Lord, Procan.
She travelled with her family from coastal village to coastal camp, preaching the word of her new faith, and slowly along the way she gathered a growing band of followers herself.
Now she leads the largest church in Keymouth, and the largest organised following of Procan in The Azure Sea.

Appearance and Mannerisms

Abeline wears simply robes fashioned to give the appearance of glistening blue fish scales. She wears her long, dark hair tied back in a single plait that lashes around in the air behind her like a fishes tail.
She is rarely seen without the symbol of her office, a long, plainly adorned silver trident, which she wields with grace.
Abeline is normally calm and reassuring when she talks, but like the sea she can flare into a temper at a moment's notice. These stormy periods do not last long however. Her language is often coloured with the salty words of sailor-folk.

Notable Achievements

Shortly after returning to Keymouth after the death of her parents, Abeline was involved in the rescue of 23 children who had been kidnapped by a band of Seabolds. She lead a small group of adventurers down to their undersea base, and brought back both the children and a relic - an unusual and reportedly magical conch shell.
Since then she has performed many tasks of benevolence to the children of the capital, and young beggars can always find free meals of seafood handed out at the Azure Cathedral daily, thanks to another of Abeline's welfare programs in the city.
Abeline sits on the Cerulean Senate as an advisory member.
