The world in a nutshell

Teegarden's Star

Teegarden's Star is a dim, M-type red dwarf located in the constellation Aries, only 12.5 light-years from Earth. It is one of the smallest and coolest stars known, about 9% the mass of the Sun and with a temperature of around 2,900 K. Despite its proximity, it is so faint (magnitude 15) that it can only be seen through large telescopes. Discovered in 2003, it hosts a planetary system with at least three planets, two of which orbit within the star's habitable zone and are among the closest known potentially habitable exoplanets. Teegarden's Star is unusually quiet for a red dwarf, making it a promising target in the search for extraterrestrial life.

Introduction

The Aries Program–A part of the International Space Agency–Has selected Teegarden's Star as the most likely inhabitable system in the Aries Constellation. It has sent drones to construct a station in orbit of planet b and to investigate the planets. After the automated drones send information back to the program that the planets have breathable atmospheres, liquid water, and organic substances on its surface. After the data was studied one of its Generation Ship was sent out to plant the first colonists on its surface.
