Brain-bust

Brain-bust, sometimes called a double-hangover, is a condition caused by overdosing on Sed-X, a chemical drug used by species with either multiple brains or brain hemispheres due to its extreme dissacociative effect, caused by unsyncing the different parts of the brain (or brains)   The condition can last for days, or even weeks, after the overdose. The longest duration of Brain-bust experienced was when one blulech (A species with 32 brains) overdosed, and had symptoms for five weeks afterwards.   There is a higher risk of overdosing on Sed-X, and therefore getting Brain-bust, if someone is addicted to it.

Transmission & Vectors

There is no way to transmit Brain-bust, unless you consider giving someone Sed-X is transmitting it. Generally speaking, the fewer brains a person has, or the more defined their brain hemisphere's are, the less Sed-X is needed to cause an overdose

Causes

When someone overdoses on Sed-X, then their cognitive function goes from being disrupted to a full-on breakdown in communication between the brain( hemisphere)s.

Symptoms

Symptoms vary between species, but are documented for some. A Blulech, for instance, will have difficulty speaking properly, due to the jaw and tongue movements being controlled by different brains, will have difficulty walking, or coherently moving their other limbs, due to each limb being controlled by a different brain, and may experience... Shitting/pissing themselves. Due to the breakdown in communication between the brain which controls their urges to... Go, and their ability to... Go.

Treatment

There is no treatment for Brain-bust, the person just needs to wait until their brain(s) function returns to normal.

Prognosis

It is likely that someone with less brains, or less defined brain hemispheres, will have the condition for less time than someone with more brains, or more defined brain hemispheres.

Sequela

Whilst most people recover completely, some members of multi-brain species develop a secondary condition in which each brain sees itself as an independant person, sometimes including the brains taking on more tasks than it should. This form of Brain Self Identification Disorder (BSID-4C) is usually completely harmless, like the other forms of BSID, although there can be cases where brains fight for control over something that one should have control over, but another has since gained control of.   Most BSID-4C systems will learn to co-operate to control the body, even if it may take time.

Affected Groups

Any species with more than one brain, or brain hemispheres, is able to use Sed-X, and therefore overdose on it, resulting in Brain-bust.

Prevention

The only prevention is don't overdose. For this reason, most pleases selling Sed-X need to place up a chart stating the maximum dose people of each species should take, and any Sed-X used should be supplied from the same place.   Education is also important, which is why Sed-X is advertised with the slogans 'When the brains stop communicating at all, stop.' (although, at this point, it's a bit late), and 'Be kind, know your minds'

This is kinda scary. I like it! It's certainly not somethingnid want to experience. Excellent job. I definitely understand that this isn't an article for sed-X but why would people use Sed-X. I assume its a sedative. what is the real benefit from it that other sedatatives don't provide? Is it just the multiple brains? Why would normal sedatives not work. This is all assuming its a sedative of course XD (in other words, I may be super curious to read the article on Sed-X)

Well, I suppose it could be used as a sedative, if you really needed to interrupt the communication between brains (or brain hemispheres), however it's more used as a recreational drug, and I purely chose Sed-X as a name because... Well... I was thinking of Fed-X at the time, even though Fed-X has absolutely nothing to do with drugs. I may have an article on Sed-X out soon.

Omg I'm so sorry XD I just assumed. that makes more sense. So I'll rephrase here. What reason do they have to disconnect that communication between brians? Is their a high to it. If you do, I will be reading it! No doubt. Sorry! Lol

It's fine, I'll admit that it does sound like a sedative without the context behind the name. It does have a high to it, yes, and although I haven't yet worked out the specifics the high is possibly going to be similar (in a way) to that of LSD.

Niiiice. Oof. Led is no joke. A trip on top of brain bust would be...uncomfortable.
