The Abyssal Crater

Overview

The Abyssal Crater is located within the ocean. It is marked on most sailing maps and charts, especially given that the area around it is said to be infested with creatures from the darkest recesses of the ocean, some creatures even more dark and nefarious than those found outside the material plane. But, that still does not stop a daring adventurer or team of divers from investigating it in search of gold, jewels, gems, and artifacts that they can exploit, sell, or research for one reason or another for personal or community gain. Besides, the further down into the crater individuals go, the more insane and mad they become.

Geography

The Abyssal Crater itself is a craggy underwater hole. It is set a few days sailing off the coast of The River Kingdoms and while most reputable sailors attempt to avoid the crater all-together, there are some adventurers, divers, and other ship captains who find the promise of riches and perhaps even the history of hte location far too interesting to ignore.
What is perhaps most unique about the Abyssal Crater, is not only the fact that it still has numerous gems, jewelry, and precious metals located within and around it to the divers who are willing to risk facing off with the terrors of the deep. No, instead it is perhaps the tales told by the Aqua'n (Sea Elves) that ring most interesting for those who they would share them with. They say that at the center of the Abyssal Crater lies a Sea Dragon Egg, one of the largest ever recorded and that when it hatches, it will grow to be so massive that it will swallow the world.
