The Al'akyrian Realms

A Multiverse, a setting within a setting. The Al'Akyrian Realms is a setting built upon the premise of having almost infinite realities. The main one, where most stories take place, however, is called 'Abaz'shala,' or 'The Golden Realm' in a language attributed to the Creators. It is a world where mortals and gods walk amongst each other. Where concepts and personal truths can be given form. A place of magic and wonder, but also of darkness and despair.   Ruling high above, The Old Ones sit as though a council, bickering and debating each other over their domains and ability to interfere in mortal affairs. A strict set of laws guide how they can influence the world, though many tend to stretch and bend these laws to give themselves more power to mold the world to their will.   Walking among the mortals, Imperial Gods, concepts and ideals given form through worship. Gods in the flesh, with power and divinity, vying for more followers so that their own power might increase. Of course, not every Imperial God is birthed through worship of a concept, no, some of them have been granted a form of divinity by The Old Ones, or perhaps, they have simply grown so strong that no mortal can counter their claim to power.   And then finally, the elements themselves, Primordial Gods as fickle as the elements they represent, ruling over the four elemental planes. They are as powerful as The Old Ones but lack the law, being as wild and free as a barbarian who knows no civilization, doing as they wish and as they will with no care for the consequences.   It is the collection of all of these that shape and mold the realm and fates of mortals. Beings of far greater power, and yet.... Empires are still carved, new lands are still charted, magics and alchemy still experimented with. The mortals only continue to push upwards and forwards, forging new weapons of war so that they might slaughter each other in the fields. Invoking the ire of dragons and fantastical beings who level a city within an hour. Mortals, creatures of myth and legend, gods, planar beings all, ever striving for more power, more control, and waging new wars amongst each other.
