Talent Acquisition and Reconnaissance

"While I confess a measure of unease regarding the militarization of mutants, the Talent Acquisition and Reconnaissance group's contributions to our national security cannot be overstated. Their unique abilities and expertise have proven invaluable in counterterrorism and anti-sedition operations. TAR's effectiveness outweighs my reservations, and I endorse their continued utilization as a vital asset in protecting humanity's interests."   ~Gabriel Tremblay, Speaker for Mankind

Recruitment and Talent Identification

TAR's recruitment process is multifaceted and meticulous. Agents scour arrest reports, clinics, and military records to identify mutants with potentially valuable abilities. They also deploy observers to disaster zones, refugee camps, and other high-stress environments where latent talents may surface. Once identified, candidates undergo rigorous testing to assess their powers, psychological stability, and adaptability. Those deemed suitable are offered a chance to join TAR, often providing a path out of poverty or marginalization. This approach allows TAR to harness diverse talents, from Psionics and genejackers to Uplifted animals and necroids.

Responsibilities and Operations

As a specialized intelligence group, TAR's primary function is military intelligence and reconnaissance. Their expertise in counterterrorism and anti-sedition operations makes them a crucial asset. TAR teams, carefully assembled for balance and versatility, conduct high-risk missions, gather vital information, and execute precision strikes. Their access to Psionics and compact, potent teams enables them to navigate complex, unconventional environments. TAR agents may also investigate anomalous incidents, earning them the reputation as the 'weird desk.' However, their core mandate remains supporting Pan-Solar Consortium strategic objectives through targeted, high-impact operations.

Loyalty and Esprit de Corps

TAR agents develop strong bonds, forged through shared experiences and reliance on one another's unique abilities. This loyalty is further reinforced by the organization's inclusive culture, which values mutants and non-mutants alike. TAR's leadership, particularly the TAR Commander, fosters an environment of trust and mutual respect. Agents recognize that their talents, often stigmatized or marginalized in civilian life, are valued and utilized within TAR. This sense of belonging and purpose cultivates unwavering dedication among agents, who willingly face danger and uncertainty to protect humanity and advance the Consortium's interests.
