History

ATS-LI Model 1 "Troopers"

Introduced: 367

Combat debut: War of 77

Description: Basic and affordable combat robots that proved the concept, though their performance was lackluster.

ATS-LI Model 2 "Guardsmen"

Introduced: 375

Combat debut: Battle of Lada, Venus

Description: Improved durability and slightly better combat performance. Suffered from coordination issues in large groups, leading to friendly fire incidents.

ATS-LI Model 3 "Sentinels"

Introduced: 380

Combat debut: The Sahara Conspiracy

Description: Enhanced sensors and targeting systems. However, they were significantly more expensive and experienced frequent malfunctions in extreme weather conditions.

ATS-LI Model 4 "Vanguards"

Introduced: 388

Combat debut: Assassination of Estrig Nene, Euporie, Jupiter

Description: Introduced advanced AI for strategic and tactical decision-making. Early models showed a tendency to hesitate in combat, leading to delays and mission failures.

ATS-LI Model 5 "Phalanx"

Introduced: 395

Combat debut: Second Battle of Gaudon, War of Gascony, Europe, Earth

Description: Focused on heavy infantry roles with reinforced armor and heavier weapons. The weight and cost made them impractical for many engagements.

ATS-LI Model 6 "Scouts"

Introduced: 402

Combat debut: Antalio Uprising, South America, Earth

Description: Lightweight and agile with advanced reconnaissance capabilities. Their light armor made them vulnerable, and their high maintenance costs were a major drawback.

ATS-LI Model 7 "Crusaders"

Introduced: 410

Combat debut: Razing of London, England, Earth

Description: Designed for urban warfare with enhanced mobility and adaptability. Experienced major glitches in complex urban environments, often getting stuck or lost.

ATS-LI Model 8 "Titans"

Introduced: 418

Combat debut: Battle of Broken Ice, Triton, the War of Bad Blood, Neptune

Description: Large, heavily armed, and armored units intended for frontline breakthroughs. Their immense size made them easy targets, and their production was halted due to unsustainable costs.

ATS-LI Model 9 "Rangers"

Introduced: 426

Combat debut: Battle of Aphrodite, Venetian Purges, Venus

Description: Balanced approach with moderate improvements across the board. Suffered from software vulnerabilities that were exploited by enemy forces' AI, leading to significant losses.

ATS-LI Model 10 "Paladins"

Introduced: 435

Combat debut: Battle of Themis, Venetian Purges, Venus

Description: Integrated advanced AI and human-like decision-making processes. Their cost was prohibitive, and there were complaints about their unpredictability in combat.

ATS-LI Model 11 "Sentinels Mk. II"

Introduced: 450

Combat debut: Second Battle of Aphrodite, Venetian Purges, Venus

Description: Attempted to fix issues from previous models with a focus on reliability and cost-effectiveness. Faced major glitches with power supply systems, causing unexpected shutdowns during combat.

ATS-LI Model 12 "Legionnaires"

Introduced: 481

Combat debut: Edgar Casie Riots, Thalassa, Neptune

Description: The newest and most advanced model to date, with comprehensive upgrades in AI, armor, weaponry, and coordination. By the year 500, they replaced all previous models in AetherTech Solutions service, with the corporation discontinuing support for earlier models, showcasing an unprecedented commitment to this new platform. Previous models often show up on the aftermarkets and black markets with all sorts of mods or amateur software updates.

Significance

AetherTech Solutions Line Infantry Models have been a mainstay on battlefields for more than two centuries. There have been whole battles fought for days on end where the only casualties on either side were mountains of ATS-LI.
