Isle Animarum
A magnificent island which seems to shine white even at night. It serves as a massive hub for trade and the independent capital of the Grand Church.
Demographics
Only the Untarred are permitted entry into the isle though it has historically been difficult to enforce this rule as there’s not yet been developed a surefire way to distinguish the untarred from the other races of Saxony.
Government
The Grand Church makes all of the major decisions about the laws on the isle as it is declared a land independent of any one kingdom.
Defences
The city is surrounded on all sides by rapid currents and high walls. The only ways in are a pair of bridges on either side of the isle, connecting it to land. These bridges are fiercely guarded and armed with massive gates designed to be shut at a moment’s notice.
Assets
The city also functions as a storehouse for all the valuables of the Grand Church giving it a seemingly inexhaustible supply of material wealth and food which is carted in daily via the bridges.
History
Founded when the Grand Church was established as a religious holy site selected by Lord King Eastaughffe himself. It was decreed it’s own land free from any kingdom during the Age of a Hundred Kings. Since then, it has built itself up using the Church’s considerable wealth into the marvel it is today.
Architecture
The city is beset with grand marble structures with towering spirals and arches. Everything is exuberant and grandiose in nature as if attempting to capture some unobtainable beauty.
Geography
The isle is mostly flat surrounded entirely by a river with voracious currents and the deepest, clearest blue water in Saxony.
Natural Resources
The only resource of note is a well of deep magickal power which sits dormant beneath the isle.
