Age of A Hundred Kings

The Age of a Hundred Kings came about in the year of Lord King Eastaughffe’s passing. When he died, he’d sired nearly a hundred children by several different mothers, all of whom were given their own pieces of land. His death threw the land into tumult as no clear successor could be named. What followed was a time of constant warfare which pitted brother against brother, family against family, in a bid for dominance. Many remember this period as a time when family ties were severed, a time of betrayals and meaningless bloodshed. At the end of it all, only three kingdoms remained; Occidentium, Meridionalia, and Septentrionalium. Sensing the island’s unrest and the approaching aires of peasant uprisings, the three kingdoms reached an agreement to retain sovereignty over their own lands, vowing not to engage in open war unless provoked. This promise of peace became known as The Shaking of Three Hands and marked the close of the Age of a Hundred Kings.
