High Ivestha
A coastal city in the far south of Isaana, situated next to the mouth of the Ivestha River.
High Ivestha is known for its odd geography: Its entirety is built on a fairly steep incline, with the western side of the city set at the top of a high cliff at the river mouth, and the other side stretching down a slope to gently-inclined shores and beaches. The city is also known due to the idiom "Sen venu ui'Ili'Ivestha", or from here to High Ivestha, a saying which signifies an extremely broad scope or very long distance.
Demographics
Despite the greatly multicultural world that modern Aethis has become, Ili'Ivestha is still largely populated by people of primarily native South Isaani descent. Aethi of other ethnicities make up about 16% of the population, mostly mixed-ethnicity individuals with no strong association with any one region. Extraplanetary aliens are a very small minority, constituting about 2-3% of permanent residents.
Industry & Trade
High Ivestha functions as a regional hub for trade in South Isaana, as it has for centuries. Native industry is limited to minimal self-sufficiency and a few minor specialties, but goods from all over Aethis and beyond flow through the city on their way to the various other cities and towns of the region.
