Within Thaloskyr, there are no inherently magical people; instead, magic must be channeled through objects. The most common objects fro channeling magic are Talismans: Each player is limited to a maximum of four talisman cards in their "hand" at once by default. However, unlike bennies, unused talismans carry over from previous sessions. Additionally, initiative cards may now be added to your hand as a type of talisman. When spent at the beginning of a round, that card will be used rather than whatever card you might have been dealt. Starting cards are determined by a mix of new Edges, Hindrances, and Equipment, but the default starting card system is described in the Master Guide to Uno Talismans. Beyond that, there are three other methods of channeling magic: through cursed items, through Resonance, and through magic tattoos. Many of the components used to create magic items have magical properties, but they cannot be manipulated directly.
