Bestiary February

I like the loose nature of this challenge already! I'm making a few modifications for myself. At this point, most of my world is a collection of shorter articles that give the barest details for a wide variety of things. This is fine, but I want to challenge myself to go a little more in depth with a few things.   Therefore, I'm aiming to do 9 articles for this challenge, combining 3 of the prompts chosen at random for each article. It gives more detail to work with, and hopefully a bit more breathing room to get more detailed. Each of the chosen words must be clearly linked to the concept. Also, I have to work within Thaiterra, because it needs more wildlife and also I'm working on a book set here so I want to keep my focus clear.   (Written halfway through the project: Conversely, I could also start an Avatar Legends campaign and devote two straight weeks to getting that set up and while it was so much fun and absolutely worth it, I am now back to doing the bare minimum for a functional article. It was still an interesting challenge to have to deal with three random prompts at once.)   Worth noting, in the cases where an animal's name is followed by something we're more familiar with, this is more so I have an identifier. For example, the bimele mouse would simply be called a bimele, but this way I can find it and quickly figure out what kind of animal I meant.   #1: 9 Monstrous, 15 Tamed, 20 Gentle: Gavota. Sea cows! They look gnarly, rather like a spiny dinosaur whale, but they're quite gentle and have been tamed as livestock animals for generations.   #2: 12 Roar, 24 Silent, 5 Colorful: Ibaojar Peacock. Less peacock shaped and more because of the riot of color that is their plumage. Making "roar" and "silent" work together was tricky, so they're all but silent except when roaring to startle away predators.   #3: 3 Horn, 8 Prey, 23 Vicious: Scabull. It's a giant guinea pig with a horn like a narwhal, and while the horn is pointy and poisonous, they are also delicious and so people hunt them anyway.   #4: 26 Predator, 14 Howl, 22 Food: Gaffear. Roughly a combination of a manta ray and a grizzly bear. Also they like to preserve their meat in salt when they can. And they are marsupials.   #5: 17 Burrow, 10 Danger, 18 Bond: Bimele Mouse. Cute little guys rather like flying squirrels, except with a world with this much wind, they get thrown around a lot. Might also all be psychically connected. Science has yet to verify.   #6: 19 Stinky, 13 Shriek, 2 Stripes: Grrymok Snake. Took "stinky" and veered sideways. They behave rather like a skunk, except it's less of a smell and more of an indelible dye. Makes for an interesting material that I will also have to write about. Lots of potential for this critter.   #7: 27 Stalk, 4 Shell, 7 Mythical: Dheiju's Snail. A real snail used to cull unhealthy plants, with a lot of myths around it. Also they live on plant stalks, primarily.   #8: 6 Nocturnal, 21 Messenger, 11 Purr: Haosa Cat-horse. They're really big cats, large enough for a Weinadi to ride one. Used as mounts, as messengers, and occasionally an emotional support animal who purrs loudly enough to vibrate anxiety into submission.   #9: 25 Parasite, 16 Pack, 1 Wings: Skalcha Bugs. I hate these things. They will never appear in a book because I freaking hate them. They are everything in a bug that I despise. Yech. Nasty little buggers make my skin crawl just thinking about them.
