Duergar

also known variously as dark dwarves, gray dwarves, underdwarves or uhubreen – are a primarily subterranean subrace of dwarves who traditionally carve out an existence in the Underdark, often near volcanoes and much deeper than there more well known Kin.

They reach maturity in their early 20s and live around 250 years, though they can reach 300 or more.

There cities have rarely clashed with the Drow and they share shaky truces. Those rare few who live on the surface are so far removed from the culture of their bretheren that they often know little more of there traditional ways than the average person
