Monism

Monism is a dualistic Acacian religion, the second largest in the world, teaching that there is one God (a feminine figure called the Mother ) who created spirit, and a co-eternal separate creator of matter called Adonai. Monism likewise teaches that Mon is the final in a line of prophets sent by the Mother, beginning with the three sons of Beorn and including Acacius.   According to the Book of Mon, at the beginning of time Adonai created all matter in similitude to himself, and the Mother created a number of spirits. Since Adonai could only create dead matter, he was jealous of the Mother, and raped her, who became pregnant with two divine children: the pre-incarnate Heliand, and a divine daugher called Sapientia. The trauma caused by his rape of the Mother allowed Adonai to entrap the spirits created by the Mother within the matter he had created, thus creating the Antiquities (the eldest of the spirits), and life (the younger of the spirits). The very youngest spirits became plants, those slightly older insects, those even older fish, etc. The Mother sealed herself outside creation, trapping Adonai in his matter. Adonai fashioned the first Antiquity as Lailah, who was a pale imitation of the Mother, whom he still desired. Sapientia was the perfect image of the Mother, having no physical form, and being perfect; while the Heliand was in the image of his father, and accordingly had a material form, which dragged him down towards creation slowly. Adonai eventually became tired of Lailah, who could not bear his children, and abandoned her in favor of one of the Unsouled, whom he named Máni. She bore his three sons Amellion, Barsabbas, and Gamaliel, who were the ancestors of the Beornic races, and the first prophets in Monism. But some of the Antiquities were jealous of his power, and desired unconsciously to return to the Mother. So Lothracha killed Adonai, drowning him in water, and destroying him. Accordingly, Lothracha is venerated as a heroic figure. When Adonai died, his soul was dragged to the Under Deep.   At a certain point in time the Heliand entered matter, and suffered greatly. Though he was tempted by Adonai with the Thone, the Heliand refused on each occasion. Each time he did, he became closer to the Mother, and Adonai was so angry he allowed his servant Zshatlalote to sent a band of evil men to drown him, and when he died, the Heliand was dragged down to the Under Deep. He was tortured by Adonai for three days, being offered the Throne one final time. But the Heliand refused, and on the third day, the Mother raised him from the dead and transformed his body into incorruptible matter. He ascended back to the Mother, and is seated at Her left hand. At the end of time he will command the Mother's power and destroy all creation, freeing all those spirits inclined to Heaven. He will mate with his sister Sapientia (who will inhabit the Corpse of Tita), and bring about the Pneuma Aletheias, who will consume all things (including the Heliand and Sapientia, the Mother and Adonai) and rule as creator God of the Third Age.   Monism believes that the souls of all living things are trapped continuously by Adonai's power, reincarnated after death and being confused and degraded over each cycle. Only through obedience to the teachings of Mon can one's soul escape the cycle, and only by spreading Monism can all souls be saved. Monists practice no marriage, but instead freely have sex with anyone (provided it is natural intercourse) in keeping with their goal to produce as many Monist children as possible. Since it is thought that all children are born with the souls of some previous person, having children and raising them as Monists is thought to be the quickest way to save everyone. This concept is called Open Relations.
