Unsouled

The Unsouled were a non-sentient race who were the biological predecessors of the Beornic races of Elves, Men, and Zwergin. Though very similar in appearance to the their successor races, the Unsouled had no technology or capacity for civilization, living as livestock of the Saura and in the wilds of modern-day Yothia and Agape. Their emergence was recorded by the gods as strange, and their bodies' similarity to the form of the eldest Antiquity Beorn was noted even in the earliest age. Beorn himself took an Unsouled consort, Máni, who was the mother of the first Sons of Beorn: Amellion, Barsabbas, and Gamaliel.
After some generations, every former Unsouled bloodline had at least one ensouled descendant, who were collectively known as the Eldmen.
