Īdsāzag
Īdsāzag is the Shāmaltāz term for their geographical territory, referring to both the region's surface and subterranean settlements. It means, precisely if unimaginatively, "our land." It sits in the northwest corner of the continent Tin'ala, at approximately 60° latitude.
While it covers an area of approximately 800,000km2, it's the least densely-populated country of Tin'ala.
The Shāmaltā who live here also share the region with the Sigkhadak people, known colloquially as "giants." The giants live on the surface while the dwarves live under it. But there are regular territorial conflicts between them. The Sigkhadak, who've never revealed their internal name to others, claim the land is theirs. The Shāmaltā do the same. Logic would dictate one could live above and the other below in peace, but neither wants to give up their claim.
Sigkhadak legends and Laratshal rumors also talk of hardy beasts and monsters that crawl up from the frigid seas, especially along the northern coasts. These have been blamed for pushing the Sigkhadak further south and putting them in conflict with the Shāmalta and even some of their neighbors.

Dwarves fantasy Alaska! What’s not to like about them? I really love polar locations a lot and looking at this made me very excited indeed! I love the territorial conflict between the dwarves and the giants. Have there been any full scale wrs amongst them? Have they ever tried to negotiate and settle their disputes? Besides, I want to ask, what resources are found here? Think animal and natural products useful for industry and medicine, minerals and ores and what not. Also, where are they concentrated? What’s the terrain like? Does it have mountains and wide valleys and also plains, or is it almost al alpine? What’s the predominant terrain type and climate here? What about the flora and fauna, what do the Shamalta do with them and the Giants as well? Are there any good ports here? What places remain ice free so that trade can continue through maritime routes? Also the new Theme Slaps. I really like where you’re going with Teryn. Seeing your rise, it’s beahfiful.
