Tersten Parliament
The Tersten Parliament (Not to be confused with the modern day Parliament of the Republic of Tersten) was the official meeting place for the Council of Eight and their ministers, following the establishment of the Tersten State in 28 PC. The Parliament stood on the northern shores of the Hudpool Lakes, initially constructed outside of the City, but by 30 PC, was surrounded by urban development.
Initially constructed in mid-19 PC, it served as the meeting place for the Pinascimate Republic during the Age of Nations (19 PC to 28 PC). After the Founding of the Tersten State, the entire planet was placed under control of a unitary republic, with its capital in Tersten City. When the Republic was finally abandoned in favour of direct rule by the Council of Eight, the Tersten Parliament was renovated into a grandiose palatial complex by the Eight, in the hopes of improving relations with the People's Republic of Lordania.
In 42 PC, the Tersten Parliament played host to an emergency meeting between the Unitarian's Chancellor of the Treasury, Chief of Staff, Chief Commissioner of the Lordanian Intelligence Service, and members of the Tersten State, to discuss the ongoing Great Revolution, which had begun to spread across all worlds of the People's Republic. The Tersten Government-in-Exile, learning of this meeting, were granted access to the building by members of the Tersten Resistance, allowing them to store several thousand pounds of explosives underneath the Parliament. The plot succeeded, culminating in the deaths of several key members of the Unitarian Party, and the Tersten State, furthering the resolve of the Resistance and continuing to stoke the fires of the Great Revolution, which would go on to liberate the planet, and found the Republic of Tersten.
The Tersten Parliament was completely destroyed by the blast, and never recovered. As such, the construction of a newer Parliament of the Republic of Tersten was undertaken between 45 - 47 PC.
The ruins of the Tersten Parliament were torn down in 50 PC, and replaced with the modern day Museum of Tersten.
