The Fragile World

Alistair Aquile (a.k.a. The Fragile World)

Profile
Alistair Aquile, The Fragile World. He bears an ability born from a distain for the burdensomeness of expectation and prestige. Born into a place were powerful abilities are lauded and as sought after as fame and fortune, Alistair quickly realized the narrow-minded rubbish that pervaded the world around him born from the muddied perspectives of others. One of the many victims exposed to a multitude of "techniques" in order to produce powerful abilities, his "potential" became shackles, and trapped by the future, the wings that are thought to carry one to tomorrow became claws that snatched him up from a potentially peaceful life. Already on the precipice of been deemed a lost cause and drowning in dispassion for oneself, it was by mere chance did an ability that answered his scorn manifest, not one that was stronger or weaker than any other, but merely to level the playing field. This ability was the key for clarity, and now having felt the contempt of both sides, has the ruinous downpour began once more.   Bearing a refined and almost regal air, he can gain the respect of strangers by mere proximity. Though many of his colleges may describe him as careless, unproductive and lazy, his wit, intelligence and cunning make his quirks a bit more tolerable. His lax demeanor is nearly guaranteed to be plastered across his person at every moment, even in situations where it's highly inappropriate. Though his charm is only matched by his infuriating inclinations, his skills more than makes up for the constant spikes in blood-pressure. But even with such a lackadaisical character, he has a deep sense of responsibility and acts on it, having his own obscure yet effective ways to maintain the peace and safety of others, though the only thing most people see is him lounging on a random couch.

Without the use of his remnant, his ability is called "Cloudless", an EI, and is a disabling ability. It causes the abilities of others to dissipate on contact with Alistair, allowing him to negate their effects. Should he come into contact with the the person themselves, he can even erase their ability for a while, halting its usage.
Hitchcock, The Patience
The master of this remnant felt cheated by people who only saw forward a few steps, and him as one of them. This remnant is rather idle and simple. Its master often finding it blankly staring at nothing, unmoving, and with its rather dopy face, seemingly unthinking too. This degree of "unproductive" aimlessness is often met with scorn by others, but its master does not feel the same, usually joining it in its leisure, the two facing up as if taking in an imaginary light rain despite a cloudless day. Passers-by often turn their noses up at what they see as a "pointless" activity, just as this remnant and and its master ponder about the machinations behind such busyworkers. But, on auspicious days, another may join them, and the two need not smile, but simple exhale in quiet relief, as though no one would expect it by its actions, this remnant may have one of the clearest sight into the future one could have.

Hitchcock has manifested in an atypical fashion. It appears to be a poor rendition of what seems to be a rather tall rabbit. It has a paper white and very cylindrical and tube-like body that lacks arms, the bottom of which ends in two short stubby legs. It would be impossible to tell when the body ends and the head starts, if not from a series of dots around its supposed neck allowing the differentiation of the two. It has two black rings that appear to be eyes with a rectangle above it's dotted neck the appears to be it's mouth despite not leading to anywhere while atop its head are two long stubs that resemble the long ears of a rabbit. It's body is very soft and plush which only adds to its completely non-threatening impression.
The ever-present nature of his remnant make both etherious and remnant abilities ever-accessible. Hitchcock's power is called "Fragile World", allowing it to generate a flowing energy Alistair calls "fragile rainwater". This rainwater can render objects frail and brittle, reducing durability, flexibility and strength of the it making its destruction easier while he may adjust the potency of each consequence of the target's newfound frailty. This brittleness can be applied to the rainwater itself, solidifying it to a solid glasslike material and manipulating the rain shards.
Style and Abilities

Alastor's power makes him an incredible asset it supporting allies, able to negate the power of other abilities while weakening the durability of his opponent's defenses. Furthermore, he's an incredibly intelligent strategist whose adept tactics can have great influence without ever even stepping onto the battlegrounds. Able to see right through the ploys of his enemies, rarely is he not in-the-know and even rarer does he have any less than several contingencies for an encounter. Despite his usually non-combative presence on the battle field, he's far from defenseless and has combat prowess that can beat-out ability users without even needing to use his. But if necessary, he's more than proficient with manipulating both his rainwater and rain shards able to be manipulated as many razor-sharp blades to slice and sever, or be kept as dense mass to defend or crush, all the while the target's ability is rendered useless.

There is reason for his more often than not background position in battle. His capabilities are quite dependent on his allies as his strength alone is not of the same caliber as the kind strategies he can devise. Furthermore, contrary to his personality, his aptitudes cannot shine in the limelight of battle as misdirection and maneuvering require a degree of obscurity. Finally, as water-tight his planning is, interlopers are a universal weakness to all strategies, thus being well-informed is imperative and a single black swan can render his near-flawless clarity into mud. Though, deception and misinformation is a constant and accounted variable to Alistair as well as all of his strengths and limitations, thus any exploitable "cracks" are oftentimes the lure.

Physical Description

Body Features

He is a Renaissance incapable for dematerializing his remnant, it simply always being around him. Luckily, Hitchcock is capable of charging its size so Alistair is often seen carrying it like a small pet.

Special abilities

His ability to bestow fragility can be used on both living and non-living targets, and this aspect is used to great extremes while in combat, such a using on their surroundings so their opponent many lose their balance on the crumbling terrain or be crushed under a degrading ceiling. His rain shards can be used in many creative applications. He can launch them at his opponent from multiple angle, Protrude these shards from surfaces to impale and stab, form dense shields to defend himself or allies, attach shards to the shaft of his cane or the sides of his limbs to change blunt to sharp, condense rain shards above his opponent and drop the heavy mass on top of his target and many other techniques. Also, Hitchcock isn't entirely useless as well, its soft body can easily absorb blows and is surprisingly strong itself. A common tactic employed by them both is to summon Hitchcock to tackle opponents or more creatively, maneuver Hitchcock from behind to grab the opponent with its "ears" before proceeding to bend backwards, suplexing them, a technique guaranteed to catch anyone by surprise, including any witnesses due to the event's sheer absurdity.

Apparel & Accessories

He wears apparel with a very noble-esque aesthetic befitting his regal aura. Alistair wears a black tailed vest with intricate gold accents adorning the backside with dark navy blue trimmings and brown leather corset-like midsection worn over it starting at the bottom of the sternum and ending slightly above the hip, akin to a thick sash. underneath is an untucked frilled white silken undershirt with cuffed sleeves that reveal much if his forearm and ant the collar, a black crossed ribbon adorned with a blue glass bead at its center. He wears black buckled dress shorts that are gartered to leglets above his knees and dark blue silk socks that reach up to his shins with black strap shoes. Aside from this, he wears while gloves with a gold trim, a leather sling that often hold Hitchcock in it's shrunken form, and a gold bracelet with a four pointed star charm hanging from it on his left arm. This four pointed star design is strewn across his clothing, with it being a reoccurring insignia found in his tailcoat's accents and all of the outfit's buttons and buckles being that shape and gold in colour.

Specialized Equipment

When under physical threat, his unique combat style revolves around maintaining heavy pressure on his opponents until left vulnerable enough to deliver the shattering blow. His personal weapon is simply a long walking cane he uses as a blunt object to beat people with and he is quite adept at it's usage, using quick pokes and jabs and rapidly spinning it before striking. Alongside his cane are his rain shards, which can employed in a multitude of techniques allowing him to attack from multiple angles. Each piece of his arsenal are made even more dangerous while his target has to deal with their reduced defenses and potential nullification of their ability. He's even very agile and quick due to a unique self-made technique. He can create semi-solid barriers that replicate the slippery quality of ice and forming it under his feet, he can effectively skate on any surface.

History

The two came across each other due to them both living close to one another, Merlo immediately catching Alistair's attention having sussed-out Merlo's remnancy and hidden power. Despite the two being rather different, Merlo always being out and about while Alistair treats everyday like a lazy afternoon, the two have an oddly amicable connection, both their demeanors being born from a desire for freedom, the only difference being how they use it. Though, Alistair isn't without certain reservations. Despite remaining unbothered as he knows of Merlo's tenderheartedness, he still recognizes Merlo as a dangerous individual for his power, akin to a bomb without a fuse. But in a world with entities as strange as them, the possibility for danger is as plausible as any other reality.

History
