Elf

History

No one knows where the original elves of Terrasol came from, but the day they arrived has been marked in the tomes of history as the Day of Enlightenment. It was on this day the elves came through a portal of magic never seen by human before. The history of the elves before this day is a mystery even to the elves of today.
Sitting on the accomplishments of their ancestors, the elves of today sit in seats of power throughout most of Terrasol. Due to their success and their long lives, the elven race covers most of Terrasol and is the most populous race on the planet.

Physical Description

The average elf is 2 inches taller and weighs the same as a human. The female elf is taller and heavier than their male counter part, as opposed to average gender differences in humans.
The first elves that came to Terrasol appear to have been a bright red color of skin with dark black eyes, and dark red hair. However, as the first generations of elves were born on Terrasol, they took on the more neutral colors of the world around them. Now with elves on every part of the world, you can find elves a bright white, to greens and browns, to even dark blues. One can tell their birth land by the hues and colors of their body.

Society

The elven society has grown and covered the world, and placed elves in all places of ruling power. Even when not intentional, elves are looked at as a higher class than all other races and are thus viewed as the ones in charge to make the "best" decisions. It has been said that elves exist everywhere but the rumored Island of Delos.
Elves first brought magic to the world and have had it for centuries. In addition, the education standards placed on their young allow them to research and study knowledge and the magical arts with ease. Elves of lower stature must study and excel in the arcane arts to advance themselves in the societal and political landscape created by the elves.
Elves, happy with their standing, tend to sculpt, perform, and do other arts. It is believed that the "dirty" work done for society, such as harvesting crops, mining minerals, and other forms of physical labor are to be handled by the lesser races.

Relations

Elves think of themselves as a superior race. They believe society works best when races play their part most suited for their potential. Elves' view of other races tends to not align with the views of that race.

• Dwarves - Elves are unfriendly at best and are generally hostile to dwarves. This stems from the elves' first arrival, when the dwarven ancestors fought to drive the elves back through the portal. The hostile relations have never been mended. Incursions of elves in dwarven lands and dwarves onto elven lands occur regularly to this day.
• Gnomes - Elves look kindly upon gnomes. Many times gnomes and elves create business relationships that benefit both parties. Elves even allow gnomes to hold some minor offices at local governmental levels.
• Half Elves - High elven society tends to look down on half elves as not "pure blood". Some elves, typically the elven parent, provide an education allowing them to participate in society and not be forced into the human life. Despite this education, many still shun them as outcasts.
• Half Orcs - Elves see half orcs as a dangerous mutation and thus treat them as hostile in an attempt to keep them from spreading their dangerous genes to the elf's human stock.
• Halflings - Elves tend to treat them in a neutral manner as halflings are looked at as personal servant slaves to elves. The elves tend to have generations of halflings work for them as the breed them for their likability and "adorable" size.
• Humans - Elves treat humans as property. The humans they own are generally treated in a neutral manner. However, free humans tend to be treated in a less favorable manor and tend to be treated unfriendly by elves and the elven society.

Alignment and Religion

Most elves are Lawful neutral. They tend to follow the pack because that is what they have been brought up to do. While their treatment of some races may seem evil, they do not see those races as having a moral standing, and thus it never crosses their mind that morality even applies to their treatment of those races, any more than it applies to the treatment of plants.

Adventurers

Many elves adventure to gain honor, wealth, and power. This may be in the form of developing their magical skills to improve their place in society. These elves tend to return from their adventures to settle down and start a family with the goods they acquired while adventuring.
Elves tend to avoid physical hardships as they have grown accustomed to others doing that work for them. They spend more of their time on improving their magic or more precision based skills. Elves tend to be wizards, rangers, alchemists, and inquisitors.
