Mythology & Lore

Legendary Items Associated with Loreali

Staff of Loreali
  • While attuned to the artifact, you can’t be charmed or frightened.
  • While attuned to the artifact, you have resistance against necrotic damage
  • While attuned to the artifact, your Wisdom score increases by 2, to a maximum of 24.
Spells: The staff has 6 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells (save DC 18) from it: aura of life (2 charges), aura of purity (2 charges), banishment (1 charge), beacon of hope (1 charge), mass cure wounds (3 charges). The staff regains 1d6 expended charges daily at dawn.   Absolute Banishment: While you are attuned to the staff and holding it, you can spend 10 minutes to banish all but the mightiest fiends within 1 mile of you. Any fiend with a challenge rating of 19 or higher is unaffected. Each banished fiend is sent back to its home plane and can’t return to the plane the Staff of Loreali banished it from for 100 years.

Tenets of Faith

The Duties of the Clerics of Loreali

Heal the sick and injured, bring comfort to the dying, support mothers during childbirth
Support orphanages and children’s homes
Mediate disputes, aid in matters of diplomacy, negotiate peace
Protect the innocent, ensure the justice and truth of the laws and seek to eliminate laws that exploit others
Some say the Oath of the Ancients, taken by some paladins, was granted by Loreali herself to her followers.
  • Kindle the Light. Through your acts of mercy, kindness, and forgiveness, kindle the light of hope in the world, beating back despair.
  • Shelter the Light. Where there is good, beauty, love, and laughter in the world, stand against the wickedness that would swallow it. Where life flourishes, stand against the forces that would render it barren.
  • Preserve Your Own Light. Delight in song and laughter, in beauty and art. If you allow the light to die in your own heart, you can’t preserve it in the world.
  • Be the Light. Be a glorious beacon for all who live in despair. Let the light of your joy and courage shine forth in all your deeds.
