Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Because he is a mass of energy he is technically formless, though he can be in a semi-physical state of being if he chooses. It just limits his abilities. This physical form is not without it's own problems however as it is seen differently by every individual that views him. The constants tend to be his perceived eyes, horns, tail and wings though.
Body Features
Ael have a difficult time condensing into a physical form and seem to always be shifting between. Thus like the other Ael, everyone sees Zen differently.
Physical quirks
Like other Ael, he can only speak truths. He is able to bend his words so they ring true but may not be the whole truth in order to get his way. This is something he does quite regularly unlike the other Ael.
Special abilities
Zen has the magic to bend reality to his will. Though that would be counterproductive and likely to get him torn apart by his creators. He was not supposed to have desires but a millennia of existence and interest in physical creatures ruined that. He is still mostly responsible and only occasionally bends his own rules.

Personal history
Zen was created with the essence of Maetyn and Ethnerdae together in order to regulate magic in the universe. His duty is to balance magic and insure that no one physical being becomes strong enough to warp reality. He in turn created the Trinity Oblivion, Void and Eternity in order to better circulate available magic throughout all souls. Since the Trinity self regulates Zen looks out for anomalies that manage to leave circulation and either brings them back into the Trinity through Null (Nea) or seals them if they end up being potentially toxic to the Trinity should their soul should go back into circulation.
Out of all the Celestials Zen has the most interest in formed beings and has developed a habit of meddling in their affairs or bending his own rules. He is particularly interested and fond of Etherndae and Maetyn's attempts to condense themselves into a physical form as well as the offspring or pact souls and often leaves them be despite them regularly breaking out of the Trinity.
Soon after the evolution of Draedians, Mythos and Sephorians Zen took a personal interest in the new beings. He spent some time with them, particularly the Draedians and became known as "The Wandering Khythos". At some point a group of Draedians were stirring trouble with the other species a conflict Zen had not seen from anyone thus far. In the end Zen transformed the group into what would become the first Dragons, causing them to forget their former lives. To this day the Dragons revere Khythos as the "First Dragon King". After this indecent Zen decided to only observe the physical beings.
His vow to only observe lasted as long as it took for the Anlael to attempt to take form, dragging him into an interest in these attempts and the offspring and anomalies they produced. He often appears before them guiding them and just generally enjoying how interesting they are. He greatly believed they would not be harmful until Roan, who became filled with rage and chaos threatening to swallow the universe in his hate. It was not until the Anlaes created a new species without souls that Zen put a stop to his blind rampage of revenge.
After sealing Roan, Zen watched as Terrani healed from the Reign of Chaos before he was forced to turn his attention on a new threat Zatona who had amassed catastrophic levels of magic becoming an anomaly seemingly out of nowhere. The power hungry Zatona started a war for magic that quickly became planet wide. Magic ran rampant as species fell one after another only to be feasted on by their killers. The war, although not consequential to the universe would have resulted in the planet being destroyed again and would end with Zatona potentially amassing so much magic that he would have the power to bend reality as the Celestials do. Zen had no choice but to personally stop Zatona, sealing his soul which had been corrupted by his own evil desires. This interference caused Zen to be viewed as a god named Xurius (The Savior) and worshiped by all present as a savior and bringer of peace. It also came to his attention that the Druids were becoming dangerously over-powered and he had to modify them in order to protect the Trinity.
Recently by his standards, he found the offspring of Roan and decided to keep a close eye on them. He took a personal interest in Erebus and decided to guide the Anlaes in order to ensure that he did not repeat the mistakes of his father. During this time he decided to be called Kaizen or Zen and finalized a plan born during the Reign of Chaos with the Marid Wraith. As Zen like Anlael came to desire to create a legacy he made a series of pacts and deals insuring someone compatible with him was born. His efforts did manage to produce an offspring, though his child is within the trinity, not having inherited his magic as the offspring of the Anlael do.

Though he is just a mass of magical energy and thus gender-less he chooses to be considered as a male and can portray himself as a male would.

He is magic itself. He does what he wants because he wants to do it. Boredom is a thing. He would never do anything to disrupt the fabric of the universe despite occasionally bending his own rules for his amusement.
