The first-afflicted of the Old Blood

The Crusader Knights are scattered across Elgerlia and so no one can be certain of their number at any given time. It is understood that there are at least three members and the Captain Mozes.
History
The Crusader Knights were once some of the most noble Paladins in the service of the Order of Saint Vortarius. During the Great Schism, to gain much needed support against the Churches of the Survivor Gods, the Knights were formed and sent on a quest to rally militia support for the Order. Led by Paladin Mozes and Bishop Primord the Knights slaughtered hundreds and sacked temples to the Diamen, Elder and Alf Pantheons fuelled by the unnatural strength the Old Blood.
However, some time during their crusade, the violence and bloodlust awoke something deep inside the Knights. The bestial nature of the Old Blood led the Crusader Knights to be the first afflicted with the Primordial Plague and their very bodies and sanity was corrupted. They had become more beasts than men.
Hunched, savage and raving, the Knights, especially Mozes, became mindless servants and guardians to their faith. Primord, managing to mask his affliction as well as he could travelled back to the Capital where he would form the Primordial Cult. Some Churches of the Survivor Gods would go on to trap some Crusader Knights. Others, such as Mozes, would find themselves as no more than human guard-dogs of Bishops and the Archbishop himself.
