In The Beginning

Overview

This is a World that revolves around the Greek traditions of the Olympians, but set more in Medieval Times. The facts, and fictions have been mixed together. The Greek benevolent gods guide the world, and each now has a Wrathful Evil version that is referred to by its Latin Title (except Apollo who seems to have been unaffected). This ongoing conflict between members of the Olympian Pantheon both among themselves, their defeated foes the Titans, and the Olympian Roman Counterparts who have manifest as negative powers, setting matters in motion that affect every being on the planet in some way.


Other elements of the later Roman Empire have more dramatically appeared in the military and most other organisations. These have been more recent and are said to be tied to changes that were noticed in the Libraries of the World.

However, overall the technology and culture of the world is centered in the Middle Ages, with the classes ranging from Paladins fighting for Light, to Assassins hiding in the dark.

The Olympians have each taken a race or a part of reality to heart -whether it be the Elves, Dwarves, Humans or other races.

Plot points/Scenes

Mythological Background

Kronos the Devourer and holder of all wealth, in learning that a child of his would at some point overthrow him, devoured each child as they were born. Rhea, the mother of Zeus, fed her babies to him. However, with the Birth of Zeus, she rebelled and instead fed Kronos a stone in a swaddling cloth.
Kronos devoured the stone, and Zeus was raised in secret in a cave on Mount Ida in Crete. He grew and disguised himself as a Cupbearer of Chronos. Zeus gave him a mixture of Wine and Mustard. This caused Kronos to vomit up the children he had devoured - who were now fully grown.
The ten year war that followed, the Titanomachy (Τιτανομαχία) resulted in the imprisonment of the Titans - and the Olympians divided the planet among themselves.
With the defeat of the Titans - they were thrown from their Mountain Peak of Oryths. The Sundering of Mount Oryths, caused the core of Kronos's shadow-form, Chronos, as the Lord of Time to falter.
Chronos's beating heart - fluctuated and in it's faltering - time fractured - scattering elements from various timelines and realities in amongst themselves. This caused ancient, medieval, primordial and magical elements of reality to reorganise themselves into a new line of progress.
We stand at the point in time where the various efforts of the Olympians to come to grips with the world and with each other is causing problems for everyone.
