Chronicle of the 100 days of occupation

Chronicle of the 100 days of occupation is a collection of historical accounts from the Night of Blood to the victory of Martha the Liberator and reestablishment of the Queendom of Esteria. The exact author of the chronicle is unknown. Most probably it is a work of many people.

The chronicle starts with a servant's account of the Night of Blood.

It was a calm and warm summer night. As always during the summer the Queen and the Prince-Consort slept with one window open. They liked to have some fresh air at night. It seems that the assassins used that window to get inside. Then, everything went fast. Queen and Prince-Consort were killed in their sleep. The Queen's Guard tried to defend the Crown Princess and the rest of the family, but there was just too many assassins.

Next, the chronicle describes how forces from the Inherited Empire marched into the Queendom. The accounts describe how they took everyone by surprise and there was very little resistance. The chronicle mentions that some people claim that several noble families were also targeted by assassins during the Night of Blood.

People of Esteria! Your Queen and Crown Princess are dead, but don't despair. The Inherited Empire will take care of you. Under our protection you will be safe!
— Arthur Black, commander of the forces of the Inherited Empire

Dames of Elfspire, a group of most influential nobles in the Queendom, who were the Queen's Council protested against the occupation. In response, the most vocal of the Dames were executed while the rest was asked to leave Elfspire.

During the 100 days of occupation they tried to destroy the Church of Esther and force us into their idolatrous elf worshipping cult. Temples of Esther were being closed and statues to elves were being erected in and around them. However, we remained true. We gathered in secret and prayed to Esther for freedom.

The chronicle ends with the account of Martha's rebellion and how she forced the Inherited Empire out of Esteria. Martha was one of the Dames of Elfspire who were spared and asked to leave the city. However, she didn't sit silent. From the moment she left Elfspire, she was gathering alies and planning an attack on the invaders. When she was ready, she marched on Elfspire and defeated the enemy. After the victory Martha was proclaimed the new Queen of Esteria.
