Overview:
Sir Arthur Mernick is an
aasimar that the party met on the
Dominion of Jarl. He is a warlock that made a pact with a hexblade and is also the head of the Shayzien guild (more information on the shazien guild can be found on the
Dominion of Jarl's page). Part of Sir Arthur Mernick's duties as head of the shazien guild is to lead the
Dominion of Jarl's military forces.
In session 5, the party learnt of Sir Arthur Mernick's backstory along with the history of
aasimars on
Terra Meiyer. Sir Arthur revealed that, due to his race, he was born a slave to the
Kindgom of Bethauna. He spend his first 25 years of life as a slave, unaware of freewill, but this all changed when he met Kidou the one man army. 10 years ago, Sir Arthur was sent out to fight against Kidou as he rampaged across Bethos. Arthur expected to die against the mad tyrant, but was spared when Kidou noticed he was an
aasimar. Kidou, who is also an
aasimar, revealed to Arthur that the
religion Bethauna used to enslave there people was a lie and that they had freewill. Kidou allowed Arthur to live, and in turn Arthur faked his death to become a free man.
At some point after leaving Bethauna, Sir Arthur Mernick found himself on the
Dominion of Jarl.
Relationship with Party:
The party first met Sir Arthur Mernick in session 3 while attempting to gain favour with the various guilds on the
Dominion of Jarl. Upon reaching the shazien guild, the party found him spectating a duel between two soldiers. Due to his love of fighting and distaste for his old catpures, Arthur was immediately fond of the party's proposed alliance against the
Kindgom of Bethauna. He agreed to allign himself with the party, then entered himself into a duel that ended in a single punch from Arthur.
Sir Arthur Mernick joined the party in session 5 while the party searched for
Kennan.
Appearance:
Sir Arthur Mernick a large man that sits well over 6 feet tall and 250 pounds. He has long orange hair that is usually put into a braid, and a long orange beard to match. Due to his
aasimar heritage, Arthur has feint neon blue freckles across his face.
