Hue Chews

Manufacturing process

All ingredients aside from bone chips are combined and heated into a thick slurry, and then allowed to cool into a tough but slightly chewy candy. Bone chips are set on the outside before the candy completely cools, forming a tough shell that is satisfying to crack.

Significance

A candy produced for and by dragons, and incredibly popular with subadults, Hue Chews change the color of a dragon's flame for a short duration, usually only for between one and three hours. The candies come in a wide array of colors, flavors, and combinations.   Notably, many adult dragons are often annoyed by the treat and it has been notably banned from many classrooms and universities due to the loud sound the treat makes when chewed on, which coincidentally, is the largest appeal to many younger dragons.   Purple Blaze, Red Inferno, and Emerald Scorch are the most popular varieties.
