Isthramir Railway Lines - Vanice's Track Circuit Communication

The Isthramir Railway lines run around the bottom part of Isthramir, towards the steep cliff that the river tumbles over the plateau (that Isthramir sits atop). They have rails that lead down and away from Ishtramir towards the rest of the country - being key for the town's trade.   However, as far as communication is concerned, they are essential to Vanice's Track Circuit Communication system. This is similar to real life Track Circuit systems () that follow the principle of passing electrical currents through railway lines. When the track is clear, a "go" signal will be presented, but if a train is present a "stop" signal shows.   The system relies on an invention of Vanice - called a "Track Circuit Clip" that he adapted from his studies at Terminus's captial's University, which used a larger version of a Track Circuit (simialar to real life ones) for their busier rail lines. Vanice's adaptation is smaller and can be moved by an invidiual by clipping it onto the chosen rail track, but can only run for a couple of minutes due to having a lesser, battery based power source.   To communicate, the use of the Track Circuit Clip can send "Go" and "Stop" signals to a reciever attached to the same train line. This sends a message in a manner similar to morse code, which the reciever can pick up on to decode a message.

Purpose / Function

The tracks are, like most train tracks in Terminus, intended for the transport and trade of goods. They run down the edge of the plateau Isthramir sits atop and connects it to the other cities.   The primary role for it was the Ice Trade industry, where Isthramir exported ice to the rest of the country. This was by far Isthramir's greatest export, so was vital to the town running.
