Herron Heights

This exclusive section of Orendarium rides the highest point in the city, a lopsided cliff of granite overlooking the Agate river. Off limits to all Squalus and to any Delabi without transit passes; Optimates and Exultants can travel freely throughout the district, which has checkpoints at each entrance.

History

A narrow strip of choice granite along the bend of the Agate River, settled since Elven antiquity. Named for King Herron, the semi-mythical establisher and first king of the Realm, whose home was in the region; a number of ancient estates compete for the claim to have been the house, or at least on the property, but the records are scanty about the king himself, let alone where precisely his homestead may have been.

Tourism

Bustling with tourists, who are issued a special 2-hour 'red pass' unless they can show their membership in the Optimate or Exultant rank; Optimates spend most of their time and shopping coin here. Crime is rare and of the domestic or internecine variety, rarely if ever simple theft or burglary as the penalties are 5x the fines and severity of a crime perpetrated anywhere else inside the city (Other than the ultra-exclusive Marble Court where virtually any infraction is punishable by death).
