Overview
Following the invention of
Tek Rafts during the reign of
Mordred, levitation enchantments were growing in popularity, due to the proposed use of them in sailing. Given that disturbing the oceans generally led to being consumed by its denizens, flying over them would be a safe method of exploring new regions. In addition, flight would provide an easier method of traversing Teralt's paradoxical world.
Construction
Skycaravans were constructed using
Glassvoice knowledge, with incredibly elaborate and difficult to stabilize enchantments carved into their bodies. The Skycaravans have a core made of Crystalglass, containing all of the enchantments required to make them float, and the ship itself is developed around that core.
Navigation
Control of a Skycaravan requires the collaboration of a skilled
Azher'Tek engineer— whose purpose is to keep the enchantment stable— as well as multiple mages who can continue fueling the power hungry enchantment in shifts.
Trade and Protection
Carrying everything from valuable metals to exotic spices, the Skycaravans became the backbone of Teralt's economy. Fleets of these vehicles traversed the sky, connecting far-flung cities and enabling a robust trade network.
The goods were protected by elite forces known as Skywardens. These warriors were trained to fight both in the sky and on land, using specialized weapons and tactics tailored to aerial combat.
The Impact
The Skycaravans not only revolutionized trade in Teralt, but also ushered in a golden age of discovery, culture, and technological advancement. New alliances were forged between previously isolated regions, and the unique evolution of magic vehicles became a symbol of unity and progress in the world.
